by For millions of students, the CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027 will be one of the most important academic updates of the year. Class 10 and Class 12 students are already looking ahead to their board examinations, and one question is becoming increasingly common: When will CBSE release the 2027 date sheet?
As of now, the official subject-wise CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027 has not been released. However, CBSE has already started the examination process for the 2026–27 session, including the List of Candidates (LOC) process for Class 10 and Class 12. CBSE also conducted a live Q&A webinar related to registration and LOC for the 2027 board examinations on September 29, 2026.
So, students should not rely on viral timetables circulating on social media. The final date sheet should be checked only after CBSE officially publishes it.

When Will CBSE Release the 2027 Date Sheet?
CBSE has not announced a fixed release date for the CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027 yet.
However, the previous examination cycle provides a useful indication.
For the 2026 examinations, CBSE first released a tentative date sheet on September 24, 2025, followed by the final Class 10 and Class 12 date sheet on October 30, 2025. The 2026 main examinations began on February 17, 2026.
Based on this pattern, students can reasonably expect the 2027 timetable to be released several months before the examinations.
Important: This is only an expectation based on the previous cycle, not an officially announced 2027 release date.
CBSE Board Exams 2027: When Are Exams Expected to Begin?
CBSE’s current policy for Class 10 says that the main/first board examination begins around mid-February, while the second examination is conducted in May.
Therefore, students preparing for the 2027 Class 10 board exams should plan their preparation around the possibility of the main examinations beginning in February 2027.
Class 12 students should also prepare for their board examinations around the February–April period based on the recent CBSE examination cycle.
The exact subject-wise dates, however, can only be confirmed once CBSE publishes the official timetable.
CBSE Class 10 Board Exam Timetable 2027
The Class 10 timetable is particularly important because CBSE introduced the two-board-examination system from 2026.
Under the system, the first examination is the main board examination and students are required to appear in it. Eligible students can then use the second examination to improve their performance in permitted subjects.
The current CBSE framework specifies:
- First/main examination: mid-February
- Second examination: May
- First examination is mandatory
- Eligible students can improve performance in permitted subjects
- Internal assessment is conducted once before the main examination
Students appearing for Class 10 in 2027 should therefore understand that the timetable structure is different from the traditional single-board-exam system.
CBSE Class 12 Board Exam Timetable 2027
For Class 12 students, the board examination timetable is even more important because board marks can play a role in college admissions and entrance-exam planning.
The final 2027 subject-wise schedule is still awaited.
Students should expect the date sheet to contain separate dates for subjects such as:
- English
- Mathematics
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- Accountancy
- Business Studies
- Economics
- Political Science
- History
- Geography
- Computer Science
- Informatics Practices
- Physical Education
- Various elective and language subjects
The actual dates will depend on the final CBSE schedule.
CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027: What Students Should Do Now
Waiting for the date sheet should not become an excuse to delay preparation.
In fact, students who begin before the timetable arrives have a major advantage.
1. Complete the syllabus early
Try to finish the majority of the syllabus before the final date sheet is announced. This gives you more time for revision.
2. Identify difficult subjects
Do not divide your study time equally between every subject.
If Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or another subject is difficult for you, give it additional time.
3. Start solving sample papers
Once chapters are completed, start practising questions under timed conditions.
This helps you understand where you are losing marks.
4. Keep an eye on official CBSE updates
Students should regularly check CBSE’s official website rather than relying on WhatsApp forwards, YouTube thumbnails or unofficial PDFs.
CBSE’s official website currently lists updates related to the 2026–27 board examination process.
5. Don’t wait for the timetable to start revision
This is perhaps the biggest mistake students make.
By the time the timetable arrives, high-scoring students are often already revising.
Why the CBSE Date Sheet Matters So Much
The timetable isn’t just a list of examination dates.
It can completely change a student’s revision strategy.
For example, if two difficult subjects have several days between them, students can divide their final revision accordingly. If two subjects have a shorter gap, preparation needs to begin much earlier.
For Class 12 students, the timetable can also be useful when planning entrance examinations, practicals and college admission preparation.
Will There Be Two Board Exams for Class 10 in 2027?
Yes, the two-board-examination system introduced for Class 10 from 2026 is part of the current CBSE framework.
CBSE stated that the main/first examination is conducted from mid-February and the second examination in May.
However, students should always check the official 2027 notification for the exact rules, subjects and schedule applicable to their examination year.
CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027: Beware of Fake Date Sheets
Searches for CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027 often bring up unofficial PDFs claiming to show the complete schedule.
Students should be careful.
A fake date sheet can create unnecessary stress and lead to poor preparation planning.
Before believing a timetable, check:
- Is it published on cbse.gov.in?
- Does it carry an official CBSE notification?
- Is the document dated?
- Does it mention the examination year correctly?
- Does it match CBSE’s official announcements?
If the answer is no, treat it as unofficial.
Where Will CBSE Release the Official 2027 Timetable?
The official CBSE date sheet will be available through CBSE’s official communication channels and website.
Students should look for the timetable under the examination-related sections of the Central Board of Secondary Education website.
The safest approach is to bookmark the official CBSE website and check for updates rather than depending entirely on third-party education websites.
CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027: Final Update
The CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027 is awaited, but the examination process for the 2026–27 academic session is already underway.
For Class 10 students, the two-board-examination system introduced from 2026 will continue to be an important part of the examination structure. The current CBSE framework places the first examination around mid-February and the second examination in May.
For now, students should focus on completing the syllabus, practising sample papers and building a realistic revision plan.
Don’t wait for the date sheet to start preparing.
When the official CBSE Board Exam Timetable 2027 is released, students can use it to fine-tune their revision strategy — but the strongest preparation should already be underway.
