NEET PG 2026 Results: Aspirants Raise Score Concerns, Answer Key Awaited

The NEET PG 2026 results have brought relief to many medical graduates, but the result announcement has also led to questions from several candidates regarding their scores and the evaluation process. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) declared the results on September 24, 2026, while some aspirants have since alleged differences between their expected and actual marks.

The issue has gained attention after the All India Medical Students’ Association (AIMSA) approached Union Health Minister JP Nadda, requesting greater transparency in the evaluation process.

NEET PG 2026 Score Discrepancy Concerns

Following the declaration of the NEET PG 2026 result, several candidates reportedly approached AIMSA with concerns about their marks and ranks. Some aspirants have claimed that their final scores were significantly different from the marks they expected based on their own calculations.

These claims have not, by themselves, established that there was an error in the examination evaluation. However, candidates are seeking access to official documents so that they can independently verify how their scores were calculated.

AIMSA has requested the release of the official NEET PG question paper, answer key and individual recorded responses. Such information would allow candidates to compare their marked responses with the official answers and better understand their final scores.

NEET PG 2026 Answer Key and Response Sheet

According to information reported after the result declaration, NBEMS is expected to provide candidates with question IDs, correct answer IDs, recorded responses and the marks awarded for individual questions from October 1 onward.

The release of these details is particularly important for candidates who believe there is a difference between their expected and actual scores. Instead of relying only on unofficial answer keys or memory-based calculations, candidates will be able to examine their recorded responses against the official information provided by the examination authority.

Aspirants should therefore check the official NBEMS portal for updates rather than relying solely on social media claims.

NEET PG 2026 Cut-Off Falls to Six-Year Low

Another major development this year is the qualifying cut-off. The NEET PG 2026 cut-off has fallen to its lowest level in six years.

For General and EWS candidates, the qualifying score is 262 marks at the 50th percentile. For General PwBD candidates, it is 244 marks at the 45th percentile, while the qualifying score for SC, ST and OBC candidates, including PwBD candidates from these categories, is 226 marks at the 40th percentile.

Importantly, the lower marks do not mean that the qualifying percentile itself has been reduced. The percentile requirements remain unchanged. The change is in the marks corresponding to those percentiles.

What Happens After NEET PG 2026 Results?

Candidates who have appeared for NEET PG 2026 should now keep track of the upcoming counselling process and official updates. Qualifying for the examination does not automatically guarantee admission to a preferred MD, MS or DNB programme.

Admission depends on factors such as rank, category, college, specialty, seat availability and the applicable counselling process. Candidates should also remember that the qualifying cut-off and the actual admission cut-off are not the same.

For now, candidates concerned about their results should wait for the official response and evaluation details from NBEMS before drawing conclusions about their scores.

Conclusion

The NEET PG 2026 result has become an important talking point because of both the reported score concerns and the significant fall in the qualifying marks. AIMSA’s request for the official question paper, answer key and recorded responses reflects candidates’ demand for greater clarity in the evaluation process.

The release of official response details will give aspirants an opportunity to examine their results more closely. Meanwhile, candidates should follow official NBEMS and counselling updates and avoid treating unverified claims circulating online as confirmed facts.
